As it turns out, my Deckels have a hydraulic clamping system just like a machining center and use retention knobs. I received no tooling with my machines, but lucklily got about 20 retention knobs. The person I was concerned with in my original post also has a Deckel, same model as mine in fact, but unlike mine, his has the standard drawbar setup and he mentioned something about the collar at the threaded end not fitting up in there all the way when attempting to use NMTB I had forgotten about my little collar sawing trick until just now, so perhaps will advise him to attempt same.
